Project-02
User_group
Background
Museums want to increase access to their collections and providing richer user experiences via web based interfaces. We have been commissioned as design researchers for a given Museum to provide qualitative data on a wide range of user characteristics and to better understand their motivations, tasks, engagement and domain knowledge.
Context
For this project we go to engage with in-depth user analysis and modelling techniques in order to investigate user behaviours and to identify archetypal user groups, with a view to understanding and enriching user experience. We have work through the COLLECT and COMPREHEND elements of the 5C design model to research people involved in a particular aspect of everyday life – the user group.
Personal Research and Sketch
The first stage in any design process involves collecting information about the existing situation via various research methods. A good collection provides a design team with a wide range of materials that lead to insights —unexpected perspectives on people, behaviours and environments that can inform and inspire the design process.
Team Work
Summary
Research is not only a pre-design procedure, but also a training method for digging out individual innovation ability from 0 to 1. In this project, our team members used a variety of research methods to study the website of the Science Museum and the actual The site has conducted all-round research, and has a more comprehensive understanding of the science museum. Based on this, we have conducted user research and user mapping. According to the user research report we have obtained, our team can effectively carry out the next step is to more research. Through the research results, we determined the user goals, made two roles and journey maps, and analyzed the pain points. Based on these contents, our team put forward ideas on how to improve the webpage to make it easier to use, analyzed and summarized them.
Through this project, I got a very valuable practical opportunity. We have learned a lot of theories about research methods. Applying them in actual projects will enable us to better understand and master this knowledge. This project also allows me to interact with each other. I have a comprehensive understanding of the design process, and learning in practice helps me get started with interaction design better and faster.
