How might we make users aware of the dangers of blind following and communicating to them about the importance of independent insights?
-Take the example of exploring the role of Feng Shui theory in the future of human development.
Research
Inspiration & Background
Since the epidemic, the world has not returned to normality as we had hoped and there have been many changes in the mindset of many people. I have noticed that some parts of the population around me have become more reliant on claims such as predictions or destiny. These types of people try to get lucky through theories such as Feng Shui or use such theories to help them make decisions.
Feng Shui and People
After analyzing , I have concluded that if feng shui theory is treated as part of environmental science, then it does help people’s lives in some ways, but it does not promote human development in its entirety.
Science and People
Bacon once said, “Of all the riches that can be made for the benefit of mankind, I find nothing greater than new techniques, new contributions and new inventions that improve human life.”
Interviews & Analysis
By comparing and contrasting the two different theories, as well as user interviews, I have concluded that maintaining the ability to receive, communicate and iterate information is crucial and requires people to have an independent, critical perspective.
human development is based on constant exploration and discovery, and opportunities always come with risks. If more people try to avoid opportunities and challenges and think about solving problems through luck, will there really be any possibility for human society to move forward?
The focus of the design is on how the audience can be led to think, feel, react and develop a proper perspective.
Development
Process & Experimental
In this process, experiments are conducted using the five elements, combining the commonalities and differences of these five elements to collide in a variety of chemical reactions that also hint at the diversity of the future.
And in order to evoke the audience to understand the diversity of the future, a corresponding picture is drawn about a person who relies on only one way to survive and thinks about relying on predictions to avoid risks and ends up being consumed by desire and despair.
Having alerted the audience, the key is to guide them to develop independent critical thinking, for which the narrative structure is constructed according to the changes in the creator’s own mental journey.
The whole journey of changing the mindset from avoidance to positive confrontation in the face of future uncertainties will hopefully resonate with users.
After a detailed characterisation of the storyboard, the typography was designed to echo the theme, using both positive and negative messages that resonate with each other, and a French fold binding to guide the audience to discover the hidden messages in the book itself.
Digital technology helps people to describe and imagine things better, and 3D objects contain more information and lead people to think about things from multiple perspectives.
Before making the 3D model, some experiments were again carried out.
Output
Dynamic posters
Digital publishing brings more information in less time, and the use of dynamic posters and soundtracks to tell stories of destruction due to blind obedience adds a bit of immersion.
Publication
The special binding adds interest to the reading and reflects the importance of diverse perspectives, and the inverted cover design suggests a desire to see things with an independent perspective.
The left-right and inner-outer echoes are also emphasising the circulation and connectivity of the world. It is unlikely that the future will follow the predictions of any one theory in a single way. It is the coming changes, the ever-emerging opportunities and challenges that will facilitate the development of human society.
Model
Use the model to tell the story of how a living being got more out of it by taking positive chances, taking sensible advice and using resources effectively. Hopefully, it will inspire the audience to think and act in the same way.

By promoting and advertising through social media, I hope that more people will hear my voice and hopefully inspire audiences to find a more logical and appropriate path for themselves to follow.

During the course of the project, the weekly workshops gave me a lot of inspiration and new challenges, and in the process my creativity was enhanced.

Reflection
From the interviews and secondary research, a surprisingly large number of people believe that changing the layout of the room, among other things, will benefit their future development.
As I said earlier, if we look at feng shui theory as part of environmental science, it does have some validity, and a good living environment does bring about some physical and psychological health factors. However, if people attribute their fate, success or failure to feng shui doctrines, such blindness will only bring them nothing in the end.
These are the relatively objective conclusions reached during the exploration of the project, which focused on the weight of feng shui theory on the future development of mankind and what ways can help people to cope better with the future.
The future is full of uncertainties, and it is not so much a question of which approach is more suitable as a matter of adapting to the development and changes in society, using various theories and doctrines in a rational way to develop ourselves, mastering critical thinking and having an independent opinion, so that we can explore the world and the future more effectively with the combination of these factors.
