SEM-1 BLOG-07

FINAL REFLECTIVE REPORT

This is my seventh blog. During the first semester of study, I studied, explored, researched and completed five projects and seven blogs. Now I will use the DIEP strategy in this blog to reflect on what I am in the experience during the semester will include the knowledge I have learned, a summary of the projects I have done, my overall feelings about this semester and my learning status, and how I will apply the knowledge I have learned in the future.

D –Describe objectively what happened

This is my first contact with interactive design. Through the gradual progress of five projects, the reflective learning of seven blogs, and the production of personal websites, I gradually mastered the main points of interactive design and how to complete one from the user’s point of view. User-centric design projects.

First of all, the first project, the user map, this project requires me as a user to create a communication design learning map. This is the first time I seriously think about the term “user”, which makes me start thinking about the user’s motivation, behavior, and thoughts. And emotions are also the first time I understand how to look at problems from the perspective of users.

The second project is a team cooperation project on user experience. In this project, I learned how to conduct user analysis, study user behavior, identify prototype user groups, identify user pain points, and make optimization suggestions for the complete process. I have mastered the research methods of user experience, as well as the division of labor and cooperation in the team. Our team members gradually get in touch with each other in this process. I also learned and mastered some proper research terms of user experience, as well as their concepts and methods of use.

The third project is about creativity and sketching of visual dialogue. In this project, I chose the theme of falling in love with commuting. During the research process, I mastered the PACT research method, which provided a basis for me to propose ideas and refine them later. At the same time, it made me pay attention to the role of sketches again.

The fourth project is the weather app. In this project, we need to customize an app for skiing and other mountain sports enthusiasts. In this project, I learned about wireframes, how to build applications, low fidelity, and how to make a physical prototype, and the role of feedback in the project.

Finally, the fifth project, APP360, in this project, I reviewed and consolidated the knowledge I learned in the above four projects and began to think about how to use visual elements to make my project completer and more usable.

In the reflective writing of seven blogs, I understood and mastered some professional vocabulary in interaction design and its concepts, such as empathy, affordability, etc.

I –Interpret the events

Interaction design is a new experience for me. My undergraduate major is environmental design. I still have a certain experience in the communication between people and space. I personally feel that this way of communication between people and space is also a form of interaction, although the focus of learning at the time was more on the structure and re-creation of spatial forms, it also provided some basic design assistance for my current learning of interaction design, that is, design needs to be people oriented. This can also be seen from the goal of interactive system design, which is analyzed from the two levels of “usability” and “user experience”, focusing on people-oriented user needs. I need to look at and analyze the problem from the user’s perspective. I need to think about how to make the product easy to use. I want to use some effective and pleasurable technologies. I want to be committed to understanding and analyzing target users and their expectations, understanding the behavior of users when interacting with the product, and understanding “people” own psychological and behavioral characteristics.

In addition, I have also noticed in my studies that empathy is one of the indispensable parts of interaction design. The correct use of empathy can help me truly understand the thoughts and needs of users. This new knowledge has once again broadened my horizons and thinking. I began to think in a more rational and perceptual way, and gradually cultivated clearer design thinking, and I was able to better focus on the theme of the project when analyzing the project. Among. This user-centric way of thinking can help me focus more on how to solve problems directly and clearly for users instead of focusing on visual effects. In the first semester of study, I learned what empathy is, what is the difference between it and compassion, and how to use emotional design and pleasant design to provide users with real help, solve problems, and provide users with unique and memorable experience to attract users.

E –Evaluate what you learned

The courses of this semester have brought me a new experience and knowledge, and I have a new understanding of design. First of all, the second project gave me one of the few cooperative project experiences. In my previous study and work process, I rarely had the opportunity to cooperate. Through this project, I not only learned a lot of new knowledge, but also Realizing the importance of communication, we must not only learn how to express our ideas, but also know how to listen to what the members say. Through this effective way of cooperation, our team successfully completed the project, received very high-quality content, and gained new friendships.

Secondly, I completed the knowledge system architecture of interaction design through the course of this semester. Before starting the second project, our knowledge of interaction design was almost a blank sheet of paper. Now I can complete a complete one independently. Although I still have many shortcomings in the project, and my understanding of professional knowledge is still at a relatively simple stage, I am confident that I will become a qualified interaction designer through the following studies, and I also want to become a An excellent interaction designer, I have learned and understood many methods of analyzing things and solving new projects. These methods have led me to think more logically and look at things more objectively and rationally.

Finally, during the semester’s study, I also realized the importance of autonomous learning. I will watch and think repeatedly on the books and videos given by the teacher, and then reflect and summarize. In this way, I can keep up with the progress of the next course, and every time I start a new project, I have new professional knowledge to learn. This process invisibly promotes my growth and progress.

P – Plan how this learning will be applied

To be honest, my initial plan was to become a professional illustrator, but I learned interaction design by mistake, but through this semester of study, I gradually fell in love with this profession, and it gave me a new way Think about it. In the past, I was thinking about what kind of ideas I want to express and what kind of feelings I want to bring to the audience. Now I think about how I should help them solve problems from the perspective of users. This is both new and interesting to me. I can think about logical relationships repeatedly and use critical thinking to verify. I can cultivate my empathy and look at problems from the user’s perspective. This way of thinking has gradually affected my daily life. I have begun to try to look at things from more angles. I am full of expectations for future work related to interaction design, and I want to proceed with interaction-oriented work in the future. For the PhD study application, my research direction should be more inclined to service design. According to what I have learned about service design, it can be tangible or intangible; it can integrate people with other things such as communication, environment, behavior, materials, etc., and the people-oriented concept runs through. This is also the field of knowledge I want to understand. On the one hand, I think interaction designer is a good choice for future career planning. On the other hand, I also want to continue to fulfill my dream and become an illustrator. I want to try the possibilities created by the combination of the two. In the next study and future work, I will continue to work hard to use the knowledge and thinking mode I have learned to enable my work to truly communicate and connect with users.
