on TRACY MA’S TALK AND VIDEO ABOUT AVATAR ROBOT CAFE

Click here to view the brief

Tracy’s work mainly focus on using images to show how the society we live in is. In her experience, whether the work is about publications or online visualization, the core concept is essentially the same. Either using striking visual language, or making people feel something, or using visualization to make the world a little better, the core of design is all about people, the users, the audience.

My note about Tracy’s triangle

What I think is most brilliant about the design of the Avatar robot is that it looks designed for the customers in the cafe, but its users are actually disabled people, those behind robots. They are helpful for the customers, while the biggest thing for those with disabilities is to let them participate in society and make them feel they are needed. It’s a kind of moral support. Design is not just something that accelerates the construction of society, but should also be more humanistic.

Avatar Robot

In general, there are the following points to learn in my personal design.

  • From the start of design, be empathetic to think from the user’s point of view, to make the design warmer and humanistic.
  • In terms of the presentation, the visualization process always makes it easier to read and understand, even though there are no large paragraphs of text. Therefore it is important to present as much important information as possible in a visual way.
  • Furthermore, in the process of visualization, do simple and clean visuals with higher usefulness, or do some striking visuals to attract the viewer. These are both workable methods. These are all workable methods. The difference is whether it takes a lot of time to do the research and planning.
